State wide competitions

This section contains information on all Queensland School Sport endorsed state wide interschool competitions. As information is received from either the relevant sport committee or Queensland School Sport, it will be added here.

In many instances the information will be available on the Queensland School Sport website as well. In these cases, a link will be provided. If information is not available on the website and you wish details on the competition, contact the Regional School Sport Officer.

​Mission firebirds primary school cup

The Mission Foods Primary Schools Cup is an opportunity for all primary schools across Queensland to participate in a large netball competition. Each school can nominate a maximum of 2 teams, with a nomination fee payable for each team.

The competition is a great opportunity for young girls to make new friends and have fun, as well as teach them the importance of playing sport. For nomination forms and further details, go to the Netball Queensland website.

GIO rugby league cup

The GIO Rugby League Cup is an inter-school rugby league competition for 18 years and under teams. The competition involves schools from Queensland and New South Wales.

Primary all schools touch

The Primary All Schools Tournament is organized by Queensland Touch in conjunction with Queensland Primary Schools Touch. This tournament continues the development of the sport of touch football in the primary school system throughout Queensland.

Secondary all schools touch

This event is the biggest schools touch football event anywhere in the world with over 250 teams and nearly 3,000 players entering annually. It has been a feature of the school touch calendar since 1983.

Secondary students in their school teams from all over Queensland—but don't be surprised to see schools from other states and countries here as well. Invitation to any school, anywhere—you’re in!

Team tennis secondary

Team tennis is a state wide competition open to all secondary schools. Schools wishing to participate need to register with Queensland School Sport tennis. Registration forms will be forwarded to schools when available.

Tennis Brisbane international challenge

This competition is a great opportunity for our Queensland primary schools to participate in a state-wide team event linked to Tennis Queensland's marquee event, the Brisbane International.

The event offers all player’s the opportunity to participate in a team competition in a sport which is primarily individual. The competition will utilise a yellow ball and full court as the event is aimed at player’s between the ages of 10 and 13.

The competition is entirely team-based with boys and girls participating together. All players are guaranteed the same amount of tennis due to the timed-based format.

Regional play-offs will be held across the state with the winners from each play-off invited to compete in the state final at the Brisbane International.

Vicki Wilson Cup

The Vicki Wilson Cup (VWC) is a state-wide interschool netball competition contested by secondary schools. The competition is an 'open' age event.

Schools intending to nominate for the Vicki Wilson Cup must do so with Netball Queensland. To nominate for the VWC visit the Netball Queensland website.
